Below are the installation instructions for QuickBooks SimpleStart. These instructions are applicable to most versions of SimpleStart.

1. Close all open programs on your computer.
2. Start the Installation Wizard:
   • From a CD: Put the QuickBooks CD in your computer's CD-ROM drive.

     Tip: If the installation does not start automatically:

     • Right click Windows Start and select Explore.
     • Browse to your CD or DVD drive, click on the CD to view the contents in the right pane and double click the Setup.exe, this will start the install process.
        
   • From a Download: Double-click the downloaded installation file (.exe file extension). You can find the link to download in your email receipt from the QuickBooks purchase.
      
3. Click Next in the Welcome to QuickBooks Installation Wizard.
4. If not available on your computer, QuickBooks will install the following components to your computer.
   - Flash 9.0,
   - Office 2007 Primary Interop Assembles
   - Visual Studio 2005 Tools for Office
    
5. After reading the Software License and Services Agreement, click I accept the terms in the license agreement and click Next.
6. Enter your License Number and Product Number and click Next. Where can I find my install codes?
7. Read the information in the Optional QuickBooks Search Feature window, select Yes or No, and click Next.
8. Select an installation folder and decide if you want to upgrade an earlier version of QuickBooks:
   • Click the Change button only if you want to choose a different installation folder from the one shown.
   • Click Select an existing version to replace (upgrade) only if you want this version of QuickBooks to replace an earlier one. (Don't pick this option if you want to add this version of QuickBooks along with the other versions you already have).
      
9. Review the settings in the Ready to install QuickBooks window:
   • Click Back if you need to change any installation settings.
   • Click Install if you are ready to install SimpleStart.
10. Click Finish when the QuickBooks Installation Complete window appears.
11. To open the program, double-click theSimpleStart desktop icon.
