Intallation numbers (product number, license number, or key code) required to install QuickBooks cannot be located or are illegible.

You can find your license number and  product number in the following places:

• If you subscribe to one of our support plans: You will receive a package containing a new product every year. You can find your install numbers in a letter that came in that upgrade package.

• If you bought QuickBooks from our website, and downloaded it: The install numbers are located on a receipt that is emailed to you.

• If you bought the QuickBooks CD version from our website (instead of the download): The install numbers are located on the back of the CD on a sticker stamped with the numbers.

• If you bought QuickBooks from a retail outlet: The install numbers are located on the back of the CD.

Tip:

QuickBooks 2008 and later uses a license number and product number to install the product. This terminology replaces what was formerly known as an "installation key code" or "IKC". In addition to finding your license and product number on a sticker on your CD, you can go to the
