Listed below are the product updates (maintenance releases) that have been released for QuickBooks 2010.

QuickBooks Pro / Premier 2010

Payroll Update

• The new Tax Table update for the taxation year 2012 – 2013 is now available. Rates have been updated for Income Tax, National Insurance, Collection of Student Loan and Statutory Payments.
• The new Tax Table version is 1213193, to verify you have the correct version installed go to Help Menu and select My License Information after applying the Update.

Attention:

Please note that this tax table version will expire on June 30, 2012. Users will be required to update to the 2012 version in order to continue using payroll after June 30, 2012.

Known Issues

• Credits still appear as Credits even after they have been applied to Bill. A/P Aging Summary is not matching Supplier Balance Summary.
  • This issue has been fixed in this release. It is important to note that transactions created prior to this patch will still need to be manually corrected. Transactions entered after the patch will be correctly recorded.

The R4 Update contains

• Changes to allow the completion of the 2010/11 payroll year-end
• Tax table update, effective 6 April 2011
• Statutory payment rates for sick pay, maternity pay, paternity pay, and adoption pay
• Implementation of ASPP (Additional Statutory Paternity Pay)

To receive this product update as soon as it is available, make sure you have the
Automatic Update feature turned on.

The R4 release contains several changes to the database.  Due to this, QuickBooks will need to go through the upgrade wizard in order to upgrade your company file.

This is a minor database change, and the time to actually upgrade the file will not take more than a couple of minutes.

Please remember that if you use QuickBooks in multi-user mode, you must update all copies of QuickBooks on your network so that they all have the same release installed.

If you need to reinstall your software in the future, you will need to reinstall any product updates, or you will not be able to open your company file(s).

 

The R3 product update provides the following changes:

1. Compliant with HMRC legislative requirements:

• QuickBooks 2010 has made several improvements to better handle payroll calculations for those with high earnings
• Also addressed various issues specific for those in the UK Directors group

2. Fixed 2 key customer issues:

• Feedback / User requests are now available on the VOC page.
• Changes to the default VAT rate for new company files (from 17.5% to 20%)

NOTE: Once you have been upgraded to QuickBooks R2 your file will not open in the R1 version. If you need to reinstall please update your program to the latest release before opening your company file.

 

The R2 product update provides the following changes:

• Supplier BACS Information can now be displayed on Reports.
• Fixed an issue preventing customer/supplier/Accounts lists to be imported via IIF. These lists can now be imported as expected.
• Fixed an issue preventing some customers from upgrading to QB2010, giving error code: 16148 80868.
• Memorized reports containing Units of Measure information will now open in files updated from QuickBooks 2008.
• The EC Sales List now reports the Net amounts associated to the ESS and ESZ (EC Goods on Services) VAT Codes.
• VAT Registration number is prevented from displaying in the S.O Number field on printed invoices.
• Customers can now use the TAB key to move between the Account, credit, and debit fields when making General journal entries.
• When setting Balance sheet format preferences for a company file, the preferences are not applied to other company files, allowing for each company file to have a custom format preference.
• E-Mailing payslips to employess paid by BACS is now available.
• Fixed the issue that was causing QuickBooks to crash when users tried to modify the VAT Exception Report.
• Adding a job for a foreign customer now allows you to select the currency for the customer job.
• Fixed an issue preventing customers from filing VAT if they were expecting a refund AND have multiple AR accounts.
• Added the option to view Prior VAT Returns in QuickBooks SimpleStart.
