Does QuickBooks 2008 support the new A4 form for the P45?

Yes, QuickBooks can print on the A4 pre-printed form for the P45. With the R11 product update, QuickBooks now supports the latest version of the A4 form (version HMRC 10/08). As of 6 April 2009, you should be using the new A4 versions of the P45, therefore, you will no longer be able to print P45s on the older versions once you install the R11 update.

How to print a P45 in QuickBooks

Printing P45 forms for leavers

  1. Create the final payroll payment for the leaver.
  2. Enter the leaver's leaving date into his or her employee record.
  3. Load a P45 form into your printer correctly.
  4. From the Employee menu, select P45 for Leavers.
  5. From the drop-down list, select the employee who is leaving, then click OK.
